Wine, Sir? Aug. 1, 2009
Starbucks has recently experienced sales decline, numerous stores closing and layoffs attributable to current challenging economic environment. So to draw more customers and in particular "evening business" the coffee chain will remodel one of its Seattle area stores and start serving wine and beer along with wireless internet connections. The name "Starbucks" will be dropped and the new café will become more of a friendly neighborhood spot for the locals to hangout. The first store, opening in Seattle this week, is called "15th Ave. Coffee and Tea inspired by Starbucks". Two more will be opened later at the new locations. Starbucks is planning to offer half-dozen types of beers and wines. A bottle of beer or glass of wine will cost from $4 to $7. If this experiment works, it could be tried in other cities.(usatoday.com)

Today is the day. Jul. 19, 2009 The new coffee warrior is on the block. As reported by Jan Ransom of Daily News, the Dunkin' Donuts location at Penn Station is replaced by Tim Hortons, Canadian giant coffee-and-donuts chain. About a dozen of New York City Dunkin’ Donuts stores had been dismantled and transformed into Tim Hortons Inc that now has about 527 locations in 10 different U. S. states. It plans to open as many as 40 new stores in the United States this year, mainly along the U. S. - Canadian border. And so let the coffee wars continue.

What is BeClover
Stealth spread of the Clover coffee machine draws interest from the
occasional coffee drinker to the proffesional. Designed by three
Stanford graduates, it lets the user control every feature of the
brewing process, including temperature, water dose and extraction
time.
|
For example :
35 grams of Santa Sofia Estate, Santa Ana,
El Salvador at 204 degrees for 40 seconds will give you a mixed
aroma of Jasmin and Orange. If you program a new brew time and
temperature, raising the heat from 205 degrees to 208 and increasing
brew time from 40 to 55 seconds you'll start feeling the taste of
chocolate.
|
So not only is each cup brewed to order, but the way each
cup is brewed can be tailored. This is the most amazing feature of
Clover, that you can have a personalized cup of coffee designed to
your taste.
With us you can:
- try CLOVER coffee and record your recipes
